Dhanya & Dheetya,
Thanks Sirisha for inviting us today for your beautiful daughters’ arengetram. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them perform. Their thilana was the highlight of their performance today. I’m sure your girls might get upset with me for not choosing the varnam - complicated longer piece as my favorite, but Kalinganardhanam was the talk of the auditorium today! Dhanya did full justice as the kaalinga and Dheetya as the young but vigorous Krishna. The first few seconds prelude of what’s coming up in thilana was an interesting way to start the narration. Salute to Ramaa for that. Latha and Rathi along with Ramaa, challenged themselves and won! The musicians complimented them so well. Dr. Lakshmisha on Mrudhangam raised the energy to the next level.
Dhanya’s Mudhugare Yasodha and Dheetiya’s Natanam aadinar was enjoyable. The short narration of Ramayana and Narayana (Rangaya’s) stories were precise and a delight to watch. I’ve seen “Bala kanakamaya” only in Sagara Sangamam :) , it was a pleasure to watch it live as a full-fledged Bharathanatyam. Thanks again for making our afternoon meaningful. This is a great start to a wonderful arengetram season. The girls kickstarted it off on a positive note today. Very apt Ganesha Pancharatnam that symbolizes the removal of obstacles so we can all look forward to better days ahead.
Praying Kanchi Kamakshi that she showers her blessings to your girls for their bright future. I’m praying Lord Nataraja that they continue to learn and perform this beautiful art form for years to come.
